Analyses and improvements of link management protocol for GMPLS-based networks

چکیده
Generalized Multiprotocol Label Switching (GMPLS) is maturing to shape the next-generation mobile broadband IP networks, which will accommodate diverse technologies and various systems together. The Link Management Protocol (LMP), launched under the GMPLS context and being standardized by IETF, is designed for managing traffic-engineering (TE) links and verifying the reachability of control channels. A detailed study of the latest Internet-Draft on LMP has been conducted. Two important flaws in two of the four constituent procedures for LMP have been pointed out and improved by us in this paper. With regard to the link connectivity verification procedure, a batch-mode scheme is designed for enhancing its performance, scalability and flexibility, with theoretical analyses. In respect of the control channel management, a Privileged Hello Protocol is introduced to evade the dead-loop malfunction.

EEQR: An Energy Efficient Query-Based Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks
Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is a very challenging task due to the large number of nodes, their mobility and lack of proper infrastructure. Since the sensors are battery powered devices, energy efficiency is considered as one of the main factors in designing routing protocols in WSNs. Most of energy-aware routing protocols are mere energy savers that attempt to decrease the energy...

The reduction of both deployment costs and operating expenses has emerged as a critical goal of next-generation optical networks. In this context, as each node maintains a large number of input/output ports (i.e. wavelengths, fibers, time slots ...), automation is needed to reduce long and tedious manual node configurations, thus easing network management and minimizing resource misconfiguratio...
متن کاملImproving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR
Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...
